Bible Text: 1 John 4:1 :-  “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.”

Dear friends,

As Christians, we must learn to recognize spiritual deception and discern what is truly from God. The Bible warns us that Satan is a deceiver, but we must be careful not to attribute every problem, illness, or struggle to demons.

First, recognize demonic deception.

Jesus said in John 8:44 that the devil is a liar and the father of lies. Demonic deception leads people away from the truth of God’s Word and toward false teaching, sin, and spiritual confusion. Therefore, test every teaching against Scripture.

Second, examine the fruit.

Jesus teaches in Matthew 7:16 that we recognize people by their fruit. When a teaching encourages sin, pride, hatred, or rebellion against God’s truth, we must exercise spiritual discernment. Do not judge everything by outward appearances or unusual experiences.

Third, stand firm in God’s Word.

Ephesians 6:11 instructs believers to put on the whole armor of God so that they can stand against the schemes of the devil. We must remain prayerful, know the Scriptures, resist temptation, and trust in Jesus Christ.

Fourth, test every spiritual manifestation.

First John 4:1 tells us not to believe every spirit but to test the spirits. Not every supernatural claim is from God, and not every unusual behavior indicates demonic activity. We need biblical wisdom, discernment, and mature spiritual guidance.

Dear friends, our goal is not to become obsessed with demons but to know Jesus Christ more deeply and stand firm in His truth.

Remember: We must be more focused on the authority of Jesus Christ than on the activities of Satan.

James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Stay close to Christ, stand on God’s Word, and walk in the truth!

May God bless you!
